    The U.S. Small Business Administration opened disaster loan centers in Clark and Floyd counties today.

  • Body in river identified as Louisville man
    The body found in the Ohio River on Tuesday has been identified as 36-year-old Eric Harmon of Louisville, Floyd County Coroner Leslie Knable said.

  • Fresh water, fresh costs for Clark County
    A public-comment period has opened up for a State Revolving Loan project to build new infrastructure for drinking-water improvements at the former Indiana Army Ammunition Plant.
    Nearly $6.4 million out of the State Revolving Fund is being sought by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to build and make several improvements to drinking water through the construction of new wells, a treatment facility and the extension of water lines.
    The money from the revolving fund is in the form of a 20-year loan, and some of the costs eventually could be added to monthly user rates.

  • Baird Ice Cream Co. closes in Clarksville
    Baird Ice Cream Co., maker of ice cream and soft serve mixes, closed earlier this month.
    The family-owned-and-operated business has been in Clarksville since 1903. Owner Randall Baird said that the business went through four generations of his family, all in the same location, in a small building along North Randolph Avenue.
