Corydon woman accused of pill fraud

Raque allegedly didn’t show up for court in Floyd County

A Corydon woman was arrested for allegedly failing to appear in court in a Floyd County drug case, and once at the jail, hydrocodone pills were found in her possession without a valid prescription, police say.

On Sunday, detectives with the Indiana State Police Sellersburg Post and Floyd County Sheriff’s Department went to a residence along Corydon Ridge Road in Corydon, according to an ISP report.

Officials arrested Lauren Raque, 25, on an outstanding failure to appear warrant in Floyd County. Raque’s previous charge was for allegedly obtaining a legend drug by fraud and she purportedly did not appear at a court hearing in that case.

After Raque was arrested, Floyd County authorities said they found eight hydrocodone pills on her person, records say. Hydrocodone is a schedule three drug that comprises the painkiller Vicodin, and is only legally obtained or possessed with a doctor’s prescription.

Charges against Raque for that alleged act, a class D felony punishable by six months to three years in prison, are pending.

Raque is being held without bond, awaiting an initial hearing on the failure-to-appear case.
