MOST WANTED: Floyd County law enforcement officials say one may have skipped the country

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department has released a new list of people wanted on felony charges in the county. Some of the individuals have been sentenced on serious crimes but allegedly failed to stick to the terms of probation. Others were charged but never arrested. One man did not show up to a hearing just before he was scheduled for a jury trial, and another may have left the country.

Craig L. Davey

AGE: 39

WANTED FOR: Violation of probation on attempted murder conviction

SEX: Male

RACE: Black

HEIGHT: 6 feet, 2 inches

WEIGHT: 214 pounds

LAST KNOWN ADDRESS: National Avenue in Jeffersonville

Davey spent nine years of a 20-year sentence in the Indiana Department of Correction after being convicted of attempted murder in Floyd County in 1992. A violation of probation warrant was issued in February in Floyd County Circuit Court after Davey failed to pay his probation fees.

Joseph G. Ross

AGE: 25

WANTED FOR: Class A felony robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, class B felony aggravated battery and class B felony criminal confinement

SEX: Male

RACE: Black

HEIGHT: 5 feet, 7 inches

WEIGHT: 160 pounds

LAST KNOWN ADDRESS: 900 block of State Street in New Albany

In August of 2006, Ross and three other men allegedly abducted a man at gunpoint and then drove him around the city while they beat him. The alleged victim said Ross stole his tennis shoes and cigarettes. The alleged victim suffered a broken jaw, elbow and wrist and a serious cut to his head. The case against Ross has been continued several times as he underwent psychiatric evaluations. An arrest warrant was issued for Ross after he failed to show up for a hearing two weeks before his trial was to begin in April.

Brandie Montgomery

AGE: 30

WANTED FOR: Violation of probation on maintaining a common nuisance conviction

SEX: Female

RACE: White

HEIGHT: 5 feet, 2 inches

WEIGHT: 180 pounds

LAST KNOWN ADDRESS: 4300 block of Lake Louisville Drive in Louisville

Montgomery pleaded guilty in May to maintaining a common nuisance and taking a minor to a common nuisance. She had originally been charged with manufacturing cocaine, narcotics or methamphetamine. A warrant was issued on Sept. 14 for failing to pay public defender fees.

Juan Ortuno

AGE: 30

WANTED FOR: Class A felony dealing in cocaine (charged in October 2003 and never arrested)

SEX: Male

RACE: Hispanic

HEIGHT: 5 feet, 7 inches

WEIGHT: 150 pounds

LAST KNOWN ADDRESS: 1700 block of Greentree Boulevard in Clarksville

Ontra L. Russell

AGE: 27

WANTED FOR: Class A felony dealing in cocaine and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance filed in November 2008 (warrant issued in May after he failed to show up for a pretrial hearing)

SEX: Male

RACE: Black

HEIGHT: 5 feet, 11 inches

WEIGHT: 150 pounds

LAST KNOWN ADDRESS: 2200 block of Congress Street in Louisville

Diego G. Tellez

AGE: 29

WANTED FOR: Two counts of class A felony dealing in cocaine in June 2008 (warrant issued in April after attorney indicated Tellez fled to Mexico)

SEX: Male

RACE: Hispanic

HEIGHT: 5 feet, 7 inches

WEIGHT: 150 pounds

LAST KNOWN ADDRESS: 2900 block of Blackiston Mill Road in Clarksville
