A New Albany man who reportedly led police on a chase through Jeffersonville, Clarksville and New Albany early Sunday morning has been charged with operating while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement.

Daniel R. Griffin Jr., 42, of the 1900 block of Market Street, was driving on Court Avenue in Jeffersonville when an Indiana State Police trooper attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop, according to an ISP news release.

The driver then fled the area and led police on a pursuit that ended on Market Street in New Albany. The suspect drove up on a curve and the vehicle was disabled.

Griffin was arrested and transported to the Floyd County Jail. He was later released after bond of $5,000 court-cash or surety was posted.

He is charged in Floyd County Circuit Court with class D felony resisting law enforcement and two counts of misdemeanor operating while intoxicated. An initial hearing is scheduled for today.
