Police looking for woman in identity-theft case

Kentuckiana Crime Stoppers hopes a $1,000 reward will help encourage people to come forward concerning two recent crimes in Southern Indiana.

The first was an armed robbery at the Greenville Mini Mart on Oct. 24.

A male subject entered the store and displayed a weapon. He stole a woman’s purse before reportedly running out of the store after a worker called 911.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches with a muscular build. Two male subjects were reportedly waiting outside in a cream-colored Cadillac, which appeared to have a missing hubcap in the rear.

Woman wanted for identity theft

An unknown woman is wanted by the Indiana State Police for purchasing an all-terrain vehicle from a Southern Indiana business while using another person’s identity.

Police say she is also wanted in Kentucky for the same type of crime. Her method of operation is to purchase an expensive item, such as a car, motorcycle or all-terrain vehicle, and pass a bad check. She also has been known to open an account in a victim’s name in order to purchase the item.

Kentuckiana Crime Stoppers will pay $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for the armed robbery or identity theft.

If you have any information about either crime, call 502-582-CLUE. Callers can remain completely anonymous.
