New Albany Veterans Day activities

PROGRAMS

• VFW Post 3281, at 232 E. 5th St. in New Albany, will host a Veterans Day program at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Following the program, several members of the post, along with members of Hobart Beach Post 1693, will march to the war memorial plaza on Market Street for a community program which begins at 11 a.m. The program at the plaza will last around 30 minutes and will include a 21-gun salute, along with a few speakers.

• Beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m. Wednesday, VFW Post 1693 will host a Veterans Day program with dinner starting at 7 p.m.

• On Thursday beginning at 6 p.m., VFW Post 3281 will host a dinner. All veterans will eat free while others will be charged $5.50.



CLOSINGS

• The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library, as well as the City-County Building will be closed Wednesday for Veterans Day. Also, there will be no mail delivery on Wednesday.
