Andrew Cohen holds a toothfish hook retrieved from the pirate vessel Taruman, seized by his Australian colleagues while it was poaching in the Southern Ocean . Taruman was flagged by Cambodia, but owned and operated by Spaniards, with a crew from Russia, Chile, Peru and Ukraine. They were all arrested and after the owners paid a $1.5 million fine, the ship was forfeited to the Australian government. None of the illegal product was laundered or smuggled into the USA.
