Reader: U.S. needs to ditch illegal alien plan

The United States Senate recently passed legislation granting full Social Security benefits to illegal aliens. We are already giving them food stamps, Medicaid and have tailored many other social programs to benefit these illegals.
We have an illegal alien problem. There are too many of them here. The solution seems simple to me. We need to make their being here less desirable than it would be to remain wherever it is they came from. Yet, our government continues to embolden, empower, and reward the illegals. We need to stop rewarding illegal aliens for being here.
Further we need to penalize the people who pay the illegals to be here. We need to penalize the employers of illegal aliens. We need to penalize Wal-Mart, the canneries, the food industry owners, and everyone else who illegally hire these people. We need to penalize them with jail time, and with serious fines, thousands of times greater than the amounts they pay the illegals.
Until we begin to severely penalize the employers, the problem will continue to escalate. Until we stop passing legislation that rewards illegals, we will continue to remain seated in our own little hand baskets wondering where we are going.
