Bertha E. Weber Gelhouse; 97, of New Albany

A funeral Mass for Bertha E. Weber Gelhouse, 97, of New Albany, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, New Albany. She died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. She was a native of New Albany and a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Benjamin, of Floyds Knobs; a son, David Gelhouse, of New Albany; three nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; and 16 great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kraft Funeral Services, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany. A prayer service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany or Providence High School.
