LETTER: Reader knows future Heisman Trophy winner

Although the recent announcement that President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize based upon what he might do in the future, rather than for deeds accomplished, seemed odd to many — my family was excited and inspired. This paradigm shift out of Oslo was well overdue and holds great promise for us all.

One of my children has now asked to be paid well in advance of completed chores. Why not?

One asked her teachers if she might receive straight A's on her report card this term. She has promised to study hard.

My oldest son says he'll practice hard. He plans to lead Purdue to the Rose Bowl in 2019. The Heisman Trophy should be his next year.

My wife is going to finish the novel she's been thinking about writing. The Pulitzer Prize announcement is rightfully forthcoming.

Me? I'm a slacker. I'm just planning to pick next week's Powerball numbers. Can I get my check in advance?
