ISP investigating death of Campbellsburg infant

Indiana State Police and other authorities are investigating the death of a two-week old infant, police said.
Authorities were called to 110 Oak Street in Campbellsburg at about 9:35 a.m. Friday, said ISP Sgt. Jerry Goodin in a news release. When Washington County Emergency Medical Services paramedics, the Campbellsburg Town Marshal, and Washington County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived, they found an unresponsive baby, Goodin said.
The child, Lachlan Cook, was immediately taken to Washington County Hospital in Salem. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the infant was pronounced dead, Goodin said.
An autopsy will be performed Saturday at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville to determine how the child died. ISP detectives executed a search warrant of the home and also interviewed several people, Goodin said. The measures are a routine part of death investigations, Goodin said.
