Clarksville girls accused of taping fight

Ingle: Girls plotted ahead to have video for Internet site

Seven female juveniles are suspected of physically attacking another girl during Thunder Over Louisville and videotaping it for the Internet, Clarksville police say.

At about 8 p.m. Saturday, in the Clarksville area for the Thunder event, the group of girls started calling the victim on a cellular phone, said Clarksville Police Chief Dwight Ingle in a news release issued Thursday.

After several attempts, the group lured the targeted girl to the Kye’s parking lot in Jeffersonville, Ingle said.

When the girl arrived, one of the females began taunting her, Ingle said. The victim ended up throwing the first punch, but did so because she was threatened, according to Ingle.

The suspected ringleader allegedly attacked the girl with a rock during the fight, repeatedly bashing her in the head with it, Ingle said. Another one of the juveniles purportedly also tried to kick the victim in her head, Ingle said. The victim sustained extensive head trauma and a chipped tooth.

Ingle defined the fight as a copycat from a recent incident in Florida, where eight teenagers allegedly attacked a girl and videotaped it for YouTube.com. The group in the Clarksville case planned before the attack to videotape it for Photobucket.com, and did end up placing it on that site, Ingle said.

Ingle said the seven juveniles accused of plotting the attack are expected to be charged as juveniles, and will be processed through the Clark County Probation Department.
