Five people had to be pulled from the Ohio River early Sunday morning after the boat they were riding in lost power and got stuck in the McAlpine Locks and Dam.
Police said the boat initially was trapped against the locks near the dam when the strong current pulled the boat through the dam's gates.
All five passengers abandoned the boat and were rescued around 2 a.m. by members of the Clarksville Fire and Rescue.
Three of the passengers were wearing life jackets, the two others were clinging to flotation devices.
Two people were taken to Louisville-area hospitals with minor injuries.
The passengers told police they were drifting in the river when they noticed they were too close to the dam, but the boat failed to restart and was pulled by the current toward the dam.
