Storage Express will celebrate the grand opening of its newest self-storage facility in Sellersburg from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday.
The public is invited to join the store’s staff at the new property located in Sellersburg off Ind. 311, behind El Nopal and River Valley Bank.
Members of One Southern Indiana and company representatives will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon. THE MAX radio 102.3 will broadcast live from the event, where a variety of activities will include a visit by the Whiskers Wagon, operated by the Floyd County Humane Society.
The Whiskers Wagon brings its animal passengers to events in Clark and Floyd counties. It provides an opportunity for pet lovers to become acquainted with dogs and cats available for adoption.
Earlier this year, Jefferson Shreve, the owner/president of Storage Express, launched the company’s Adopt a Friend campaign. This company-sponsored program provides support to animal rescue shelters that serve the communities in which Storage Express facilities are located. Shreve will present a $500 gift to the Floyd County Humane Society during the grand opening event.
Festivities to follow on-site include refreshments provided by El Nopal Mexican Restaurant and prize drawings, including a grand prize weekend getaway provided by the Eagle Point Golf & Tennis Resort on Indiana’s Lake Monroe.
Storage Express owns and operates 75 self-storage properties across Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. The Bloomington-headquartered company has also opened other self storage properties this year in Bedford, Petersburg and Columbus.
