Clarksville police looking into armed robbery

By MATT THACKER

The Clarksville Police Department is investigating an alleged armed robbery along the 1500 block of Marlowe Drive.

A 38-year-old woman reported that a man she knew flagged her down and then pulled a gun on her and told her that he wanted all of her money, according to a police report. The woman said she gave the man $121.

The victim described the man to a detective, and he was located nearby. The

suspect claimed the woman — the mother of his friend — had asked if he could sell her crack cocaine and then told him she was robbed. He claimed that he told her he does not sell crack and gave her $60.

A witness originally told police she saw the suspect give her money but later recanted. Neither was charged.

The suspect is a 22-year-old from Clarksville. Because he has not been charged, The Evening News and The Tribune is not publishing his name.
