Jeffersonville merchants host wine tasting

Event is Friday evening in downtown Jeffersonville

Jeffersonville Main Street Inc. will host Wine, Walk & Shop from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday along Spring Street. Those attending can visit local businesses while sampling wines from regional wineries.

Those wishing to sample the wine must stop by the registration tent — inside the public garden at the corner of Spring and Chestnut streets — to show proof of age and pick up a tasting glass. After that, they’ll be free to go on the walk and sample the wines being served inside downtown businesses.

New Albanian Brewing Co. will have beer samples, as well. Nonalcoholic drinks also will be available. Shops will be offering 20 percent discounts on purchases of $20 or more. And live music will be featured throughout downtown.

Participating businesses include:

• Baby Chic;

• CCF & Crafts;

• Choices;

• Forever More II;

• Gold’s Jewelers;

• Grinny Possum;

• Hot On Spring;

• Lavender Hill;

• Market Street Inn;

• Perkfection Café;

• Petunias Boutique;

• Salon 253;

• Schimpff’s Confectionery;

• Sugar Maples Antiques and Gifts; and

• The Springs Salon & Spa.

• Note: By law, those attending will not be able to carry their drinks from place to place.

Participating wineries include:

• Best Vineyards Winery, Elizabeth;

• Chateau de Pique Winery;

• Huber’s Orchard, Winery, & Vineyards, Starlight;

• Indian Creek Winery;

• River City Winery, New Albany;

• Scout Mountain Winery; and

• Turtle Run Winery, Corydon.

• Also, beer samples will come from New Albanian Brewing Co.
