The Salvation Army will again have a back-to-school clothing giveaway for students living in Clark, Floyd, Crawford, Harrison, Scott and Washington counties.
Annette Hawkins, manager of the New Albany thrift store location, said this program has been going on for more than 10 years. This year, each student will be able to pick eight items of clothing, including coats and shoes, for free.
This event is only going on at the Clarksville location, at 528 N. Hallmark Blvd., just behind Value City.
It goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Monday through Aug. 7. Participants must bring verification of school enrollment and proof of address. The giveaway is open to students of all ages, including those in college.
Hawkins said the Salvation Army could use more boys clothing, especially young mens.
Donations at the Clarksville location are accepted Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Large items are requested before 4:45 p.m. Donations can also be made on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
