Indiana State Police arrested Tony A. Kessinger, 35, of 530 W. Main St., Pekin, for failure to register as a sex offender, a D felony, Tuesday afternoon.

Kessinger was arrested after a warrant was issued out of the Washington County Circuit Court. The arrest warrant was a result of an investigation by Detective Scott Stewart who was alerted by the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Washington County Division of Family and Children that Kessinger was allegedly in violation of the sexual offender registry rules.

Kessinger was arrested at a residence in Pekin located across the street from an elementary school. He is currently in the Washington County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
