Police on Monday night arrested five people in Scottsburg in relation to methamphetamine dealing.
The investigation began late Friday evening when the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg received a tip that Cesar G. Garcia, 34 of Indianapolis, came to the Scott County area to allegedly deal methamphetamine, a news release from ISP says.
Troopers began an investigation that ended Monday with five people arrested and approximately 36 grams of suspected methamphetamine and more than $5,000 seized.
Four of those arrested were arrested at a senior citizens apartment complex in Scottsburg. Three of these people arrested were allegedly visiting the fourth person, who was staying with an unsuspecting family member.
This investigation is continuing. Assisting ISP were the Charlestown Police Department and members of the Washington County Drug Task Force.
Arrested were, with charges:
• Amber M. Amy, 31, of Clarksville, visiting a common nuisance, class B misdemeanor.
• Cesar G. Garcia, 34, of Indianapolis, conspiracy to deal methamphetamine more than 3 grams, class A felony.
• Keith E. Lucas, 37, of Scottsburg, possession of methamphetamine more than 3 grams, class C felony; maintaining a common nuisance, class D felony.
• Tara T. Patton, 28, of Freetown, possession of methamphetamine less than 3 grams, class D felony; visiting a common nuisance, class B misdemeanor.
• Matthew M. Prostler, 26, of Scottsburg, conspiracy to deal methamphetamine less than 3 grams, class B felony.
