H1N1 clinic Saturday at Mt. Tabor

The Floyd County Health Department will host a walk-in clinic for the H1N1 vaccine on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic will be held at Mount Tabor Elementary School, located at 800 Mount Tabor Road in New Albany. This clinic is only for the following individuals: Children age 6 months and older with chronic health problems; caregivers of children 6 months and younger; preschool children and adults with chronic health problems.

Greenville Masonic Lodge open house Saturday

Greenville Masonic Lodge 416, along with Indiana Masons across the state, is opening its doors for the public to learn about Freemasonry and its affiliated organizations at an open house from 11 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lodge, 9580 Clark St., Greenville, next to Greenville Christian Church.

This open house is being sponsored by the Greenville Lodge, the Georgetown Lodge 480 and Crandall Lodge 591. There will be a fish fry and other refreshments available throughout the day. The Lodge will be open for display and questions will be answered by members of the Lodge. Ask questions, learn about the history and decide if Freemasonry might be what you are looking for to further engage and make a difference in your local community.

Rally, chili supper to help send Scribner Panthers to Florida

There will be a Cheer Rally & Chili Supper fundrasier to help with travel expenses for the Scribner Middle School Panthers to compete in national football games in Daytona, Fla., from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Knights of Columbus Hall, 809 East Main St., New Albany.

Tickets are $5 at the door.

November events at Destinations

Destinations Booksellers has finished construction and will be hosting a variety of special events through November:

• Friday, 7 p.m., Story Hour with Miss Ruth.

Bring the family for a storytime for children and parents to enjoy together. Children are welcome to wear their pajamas, so they are ready to hop into bed as soon as they get home.

• Saturday, 8 p.m., Art Exhibit Opening with New Albany artist Carrie as a special guest at the opening reception for a six-week exhibition of her visual art.

Also, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, John McCormick and Keltricity will perform.

Salvation Army offering holiday meal

The Salvation Army will host a free Thanksgiving Dinner from 4 to 6 p.m., Thanksgiving Day, at their location at 2300 Green Valley Road, New Albany.

The dinner is free and open to the public, so that no one eats alone or goes without a Thanksgiving dinner. Volunteers from the Salvation Army and Northside Christian Church will serve a traditional dinner with turkey and trimmings.

Community Thanksgiving service Sunday

West Clark Ministerial Association will sponsor a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 at Memphis United Methodist Church, Main St., Memphis.

Pastor T. C. Baker, from Safe Harbor Christian Church in Henryville, will lead the Sunday evening service. Everyone attending is asked to bring food for the food pantry at Henryville Baptist Church, and there will be a monetary offering collected for the West Clark Ministerial Association. Parking is limited. Attendees can park at the Memphis Community Church on Highway 31, next to the Love’s Travel Stop. There will be a shuttle service for the short trip from the Community Church to Memphis United Methodist.

Clarksville Parks offering IUS tickets

The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department is offering free tickets to see Indiana University Southeast vs. St. Catharine College Basketball doubleheader at 6 p.m. for women’s basketball and 8 p.m. for men’s basketball, Dec. 1, at the IUS Gym, 4201 Grant Line Road, New Albany.
