Four people were arrested on charges related to illegally acquiring prescription drugs in Clark County, according to the Indiana State Police.

Arrest warrants were issued from Clark County for illegally acquiring controlled substances with fake prescriptions, and it led to the arrest of three of the individuals in Jefferson County, Ind., on Wednesday.

The suspects allegedly used prescription notepads — stolen from a medical facility in Jefferson County — filled them out and took them to pharmacies in Clark County to obtain the drugs. Three suspects from Hanover were charged with varying counts of illegally acquiring a controlled substances — a class D felony.

Matthew Brocket, 33, was charged with four counts of illegally acquiring a controlled substance; Karl Anderson, 24, was charged with one count; and Jessica Carder, 21, was charged with two counts, according to an ISP release.

The fourth suspect, Linda Kendall, 50, also from Hanover, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Louisville on Nov. 13 for the same offense.

The four arrests came after a six-month investigation by ISP and were made in conjunction with the Hanover Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and Madison Police Department.

The suspects are currently being held in Jefferson County and are awaiting extradition to Clark County, said Indiana State Police Lt. Jim Hickerson.

Kendall was extradited to Clark County on Wednesday, according to the release.
