A Louisville man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly dealing cocaine in New Albany.

Ashanti J. Richardson, 26, of the 2300 block of West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, was arrested at about 4 p.m. in a parking lot at State and Elm streets, according to a press release from the New Albany Police Department.

Richardson was the passenger of a vehicle being driven by 25-year-old Giorgia T. Scott, of the 800 block of South 36th Street in Louisville. Scott was arrested for not having an operator’s license, a class C misdemeanor.

Richardson was arrested following an investigation by the NAPD’s FLEX unit. He was charged Wednesday with class A felony dealing in cocaine.

He is being held in the Floyd County Jail awaiting an initial hearing which is scheduled for Monday in Floyd County Superior Court No. 3.

He faces 20 to 50 years in prison if convicted.

Two arrested after drug paraphernalia found

A New Albany woman with an outstanding warrant in Floyd County was arrested Tuesday and is facing drug charges along with a Lanesville man.

Tina M. Robertson, 37, of the 2700 block of Paoli Pike, has been wanted since she failed to show up for a revocation hearing on a felony theft case in August. Robertson was the passenger in a car being driven by Edward C. Fischbach, 58, of Lanesville. A police investigation found that Fischbach’s operator’s license was suspended in Indiana. He was issued a traffic citation.

Police found drug paraphernalia associated with intravenous drug use inside the vehicle, according to the press release.

Robertson and Fischbach are also both preliminarily charged with possession of paraphernalia, a class D felony. They were transported to the Floyd County Jail awaiting an initial hearing.

Court records show Fischbach has been arrested at least seven times in Floyd County on drug-related charges since 2000 and at least five times on theft or criminal conversion charges. Since 1996, Robertson has been charged with check deception on two occasions, forgery and theft.
