ISP seeking help to identify Southern Indiana bank robber

Suspect reportedly hit banks in Corydon, Spencer

The Indiana State Police is asking the public for any information about a man they believe has robbed at least two Southern Indiana banks in the last two months.

The first robbery occurred on Oct. 2 at Community First Bank, at 117 Chestnut St., in Corydon. The robber reportedly walked into the bank and orally demanded money. He appeared to be talking on his cell phone and carrying a folder or day planner.

The second robbery occurred Friday in Spencer, just northwest of Bloomington. The suspect entered the Peoples Bank, at 304 E. Morgan St., gave the teller a bag and demanded money.

There were no injuries reported in either robbery, according to an ISP press release.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s. He was last seen wearing a tan baseball hat, tan jacket, a button down tan or gray shirt and blue jeans. He was wearing glasses and a baseball cap in both robberies.

He wears no mask, but has a thick dark beard that is partially gray. He appears to be 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall.
