Jeffersonville fire claims Christmas

Donna Payne tries to comfort a young girl as Jeffersonville firefighters remove debris from the girl’s house Thursday evening after a fire began in the living room of a home located at 1039 1/2 Main St. A grandmother and her granddaughter live in the home and were both uninjured. The family lost its Christmas tree and nearly all its Christmas presents. The Jeffersonville Fire Department contacted the American Red Cross to help the family through the holiday season.
