Gene Crone, 68; Army veteran

Funeral services for Gene Crone, 68, of Borden and Columbus, will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery, Memphis. He died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

He was retired as an independent truck driver and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Doris M. Crone, Columbus; two sons, Jeff Crone and wife, Michele, Fairfax, Va. and Chris Crone and wife, Dana, Mooresville, N.C.; three brothers, Steve Crone, David Crone and Michael Crone; five sisters, Nancy Swisher, Clara Mae Allen, Barbara Seper, Patty Heath and Katie Daily; and four grandchildren, Sam, Luke, Morgan and Giada.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time.
