Joseph Leroy Hether Sr., 56; Army veteran

Funeral services for Joseph Leroy Hether Sr., 56, of New Albany, will be at 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 7, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Home, with cremation to follow. He died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was a self-employed painter and a member of the American Legion Post 3281. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his sons, Joseph Leroy Hether Jr. and Joseph Arnold Hether, both of New Albany; daughters, Rebecca J. Rodgers, Louisville and Tina R. Knight, Palmyra; sisters, Connie, Floyds Knobs and Sandra of Michigan; and grandchildren, Kayla Rodgers, Brandon Knight, Tyler Hether, Chelsey Rodgers, Brittany Knight, Jacob Rodgers, Jessica Knight, Gavin Hether, Christina and Autumn Knight and Brylan Hether.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
