Staff Sgt. Brent M. Monroe, 25; Iraq War Air National Guard veteran
Funeral services for Staff Sgt. Brent M. Monroe 25, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10, at Northside Christian Church, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla.
He was born in Corydon, and was a long-time resident of Floyd Knobs. He was a member of the 123rd Security Forces Squadron, Kentucky Air National Guard in Louisville, and actively working at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City. He also served in Iraq. He was a 2001 graduate of Floyd Central High School and a member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany.
Survivors include his mother, Carla Goble and husband, Steve; father, Ron Monroe and wife, Vickie; sister, Brook Monroe; girlfriend, Liz Cadena (Chloe); grandparents, Corky and Carol Saulman and Davis and Tillie Monroe; great-grandmother, Violet Katherine Rainbolt; nephew, Cooper Monroe Hopkins; step-brothers and sisters, Scott Goble, Stephanie Brennan, Wade and Morgan Rozack; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation at Kraft Funeral Services, Charlestown Road Chapel, will be from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday.
