Charles L. ‘Cig’ Campbell, 72; Navy veteran
Funeral services and military honors for Charles L. “Cig” Campbell, 72, of New Albany, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Kraft Funeral Services, Charlestown Road Chapel, with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a machinist and retired from MKM Company in Jeffersonville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3281, American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, and IAM Local 681.
The son of the late Leonard and Lucille Atkins Campbell, he was born Feb. 10, 1936 in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sandra L. Weigleb Campbell; daughter, Debbie Cogburn and her husband, Owen, Underwood; son, Scott Campbell, New Albany; sister, Betty Brownell, Louisville; brother, Wilbur Campbell, New Salisbury; and two grandchildren, Shawn and Brandon Rosenberger.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, May 9.
