Albert Clinton Sheffield, 84; of Leesburg, Fla.
Albert Clinton Sheffield, 84, of Leesburg, Fla., died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Avante at Leesburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born May 6, 1924 in Jackson, Madison County, Tenn. He retired in 1980 after 36 years with the CSX Railroad, including serving as Terminal Agent in Louisville from 1963 to 1975. He moved to central Florida in 1986. He enjoyed golfing and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a son, Paul Sheffield Sr. and wife, Debbi, Clarksville; a daughter, Carol Anderson and husband, Norman, Fruitland Park, Fla.; three grandsons, Dave Anderson, Wildwood, Fla., Paul Sheffield Jr. and wife, Angie, New Albany and Andrew Sheffield, Clarksville; and two great-grandsons, Brendan and Bryce Sheffield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Callie Riner Sheffield and William Frederick Sheffield; two sisters, Ruby Lewis and Ruth Sheffield; and three brothers, Clarence Sheffield, Murray Sheffield and Lloyd Sheffield.
At his request, the body will be donated to the University of Florida College of Medicine. No services will be held.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hospice of Lake and Sumter, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Fla., 32778.
The Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
