Clifford ‘Cliff’ E. Koerner, 95; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Clifford E. “Cliff” Koerner, 95, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. He died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Westminster Healthcare Center in Clarksville.
He was a native of Crothersville, owner and founder of Cliff’s Market, on the corner of Kehoe Lane and Hwy. 62, having been a grocer for more than 50 years. He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, a 50-year member of the Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge #340, a member of the Jeffersonville Eastern Star #327, a charter member of the Senior League at the Cherokee Golf Course, and was an Army engineer veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, the former Emma Jayne Satterlee; a son, John A. Koerner and his wife Nancy, Jeffersonville; and two grandsons, Chris Koerner and his wife Ann, Clarksville, and Scott Koerner, Augusta, Ga.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Talley.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Park Place United Methodist Church.
