Fred E. Thurston, 83; WWII veteran

Private services will be held for Fred E. Thurston, 83, of New Albany. He died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville.

He was a veteran of World War II and a self-employed contractor.

Survivors include his four children, Becky Jenkins and husband, Doug, Chambersburg, Brenda Thurston, Louisville, Brian Thurston and wife, Carol, Floyds Knobs, and Angela Richardson and husband, Steve, Charlestown; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole M. Thurston.
