Euron L. Snow, Jr., 89; former New Albany resident
Funeral services for Euron L. Snow, Jr., 89, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of New Albany, were held at 11:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, May 13, at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, Lexington, with burial in Frankfort Cemetery. He died Thursday, May 8, 2008.
He was a retired accounting clerk for American Tobacco Co. Born in Seven Mile, Ohio, he was the son of the late Euron S. and Frances Stivers Snow. During his four years in the U.S. Navy, he served on the USS Vixen as chief petty officer. He was very active in church activities. In New Albany, he was a 22 year member of Central Christian Church, where he served as deacon and at Woodland Christian Church in Lexington he was an elder emeritus. In New Albany he was active in Cub Scouts and Little League Baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Darnell Snow; three sons, Glen R. Snow and wife, Pam, New Albany, Thomas L. Snow and wife, Rosemary, Lexington, Ky. and David L. Snow, New Albany; a brother, Roy C. Snow, Frankfort, Ky.; three grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Bryan Thomas and Morgan L. Snow; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, David Tarter.
Visitation at the funeral home was Monday, May 12, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Woodland Christian Church Foundation.
