Samuel C. Jeffers Sr., 88; of New Albany

Funeral services for Samuel C. Jeffers Sr., 88, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery. He died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at his home.

He was a New Albany native and was retired from International Harvester in Louisville. He was a longtime member of the Charlestown Road Church of Christ in New Albany.

Survivors include two sons, Samuel C. Jeffers Jr. and wife, Betty and Michael Jeffers and wife, Colleen, all of Sellersburg; two daughters, Barbara Mahan and husband, Dan, Alabama and Vicki Sheppard and husband, Alan, New Albany; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy R. Harris Jeffers and a son, Wallace E. Jeffers

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hosparus, 624 E. Market St. New Albany.
