Melvin Thomas Middleton, 64; Vietnam veteran
Funeral services for Melvin Thomas Middleton, 64, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Gilt Edge Baptist Church, Jeffersonville, with interment in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died at Green Valley Convalescent Center, New Albany.
He was a native of New Albany, a 27 year retired employee of North Fork Railroad and was a Vietnam War veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Lea Monique Middleton Rhodes; his former wife, Wanda Williams; five sisters, Edna Lee, Deborah Gales and husband, Melvin and Wanda, Jacqueline and Portia Middleton; seven brothers, Omer Middleton and wife, Bernye, Morris Middleton and wife, Vera, Curtis Middleton and wife, Janet, William Middleton and wife, Edwina, Ronald Middleton, Gregory Middleton and wife, Angeli, who was his care taker and Clark Middleton and wife, Angelia; an aunt, Bernice Smith; three stepchildren, Eric, Desiree and George Ross; long time companion, Audrey Hodge; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Georgia Middleton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church and after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Pyke-Calloway Funeral Service, New Albany, is in charge of arrangements.
