Funeral services for Arovinia Rankin, 83, of Sellersburg, will be at noon Monday, July 7, at Kraft Funeral Services, Charlestown Road Chapel, with private entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Chapel of the Cross. She died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
She was a devoted wife of some 65 years, and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a native of Carrollton, Ky. and a retired administrator with the defunct Bacons Department Stores, and former secretary-treasurer and longtime member of Charity Community Church, Clarksvile.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Billy Rankin; children, William Boyd Rankin, Mikell Rankin Baize, Teresa Hoffman and husband, Bill, and Betsy Lee Rankin, all of Sellersburg; grandchildren, Tawnya, Tammy, Brent, Brian, Bill, Brandon, Todd, Terry and Timothy; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Luetta Leep, Carrollton, Ky.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 6.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Charity Community Church, Clarksville, or Serenity House, 208 Sunset Ave., Clarksville, 47129.
