Mildred I. Walker, 82; of New Albany
A memorial service for Mildred I. Walker, 82, of New Albany, will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the Paul V. Shrader Funeral Home, 1715 East Oak St., New Albany. She died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was a native of New Albany, and formerly worked at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant. She enjoyed both family, and friends, especially her nightly card games with her dear friend, Susie Amy. Perhaps her favorite pastime was traveling to Caesars in her notorious Blue Lincoln.
Survivors include daughters, Vicky Habermel and husband, Robert, and Tammy Woodrum and husband, Skip; and her grandchildren, Tony Habermel, Tim Hobbs and wife, Angel, and Andrew Woodrum.
She was preceded in death by her step-father and mother, George Russell and Mary P. Wilkinson.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Cremation was chosen.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Salvation Army.
