Douglas G. Luallen, 66; Vietnam War Air Force veteran
Funeral services for Douglas G. Luallen, 66, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with interment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a retired boilermaker from L.G. & E. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Garland Luallen; son, Timothy A. Dowdle, New Albany; daughters, Laura L. Brooks and husband, Terry, Pekin and Beverly Jo Lynch and husband, Richard, Greenville; brothers, Steve Luallen and wife, Carol, Zainsville, Ohio, Jerry Luallen and wife, Geraldine, Marengo, Paul Luallen and wife, Carolyn, New Middletown, Dan Luallen and wife, Jana, Sellersburg and Rick Luallen and wife, Phyllis, Sellersburg; sisters, Aileen Bullington and husband, Dennis, Clarksville and Kathleen Carr, Louisville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
