James A. Hicks
James A. Hicks, 57; of New Albany
Funeral services for James A. Hicks, 57, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church with interment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
He was a millwright and a service technician for nuclear power plants. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 68, Ft. Worth, Texas. He was a member of the F. & A. M. Lodge 39, Kentucky Colonel and Tennessee Squires. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his son, Rev. James A. Hicks, II and wife, Maria, of Woodstock, Ga.; brothers, Steven W. Hicks and wife, Rebecca S., of Georgetown, and Barry N. Hicks and wife, Mickey L., of Sellersburg; mother, Marie Hicks, of New Albany; and grandchildren, Abbie, Noah, and Emma Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard J. Hicks, Jr., and brother, Michael V. Hicks.
Visitation will be at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church from noon to 1 p.m. Monday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.
