Anna Heubi Leake, 102; Former resident of Speed
Funeral services for Anna Heubi Leake of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes with burial to follow in Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. She died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at her home in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
She was born in Tell City, and was a former resident of Speed, prior to moving to Tennessee in 2005 to be closer to her granddaughter. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of more than 50 years, William P. Leake Sr; parents, Fred and Josie Heubi of Tell City, son, William P. Leake Jr of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Helen Barbour (Harry) of Wheaton, Ill.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Jean Leake of Louisville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leo and Virginia Pellum of Sullivan; a niece, Harriet Vance Pruett of Wheaton, Ill., along with many other family members and friends that she has lost in her 102 years in this life.
Anna was an inspiration to all that met her and will be deeply missed. She attended Purdue University and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was a longtime member of Speed Memorial Church, the New Albany Country Club and the Order of Eastern Star in Tell City.
Survivors include her devoted granddaughter, Leanne Leake Kane and her husband Erick; and great-grandchildren, Anna Marie Kane and William Benjamin Haile Kane, Old Hickory, Tenn.; son, Richard Leake and his wife Joyce, Charlestown; grandchildren, Linda Leake and Shelley Thomas and her husband Donnie; great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Kelley Thomas, both of Louisville.
Visitation will be at Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road and Weston Drive, Mt. Juliet, Tenn., from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct, 6, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home.
