Alta M. Weigleb, 83; of New Albany
Funeral services for Alta M. Weigleb, 83, of New Albany, will be at noon Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, New Albany. She died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at her home.
She was the former Alta Taylor, born in Orange County and lived in Crawford County before moving to New Albany. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Floyd County Post 3281 and a member of the Retired Police and Fireman’s Association. She was a member of Park Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Daniel J. Weigleb, New Albany; a daughter, Connie W. Sipes and husband, Steve, New Albany; five brothers, Karl Tucker, Las Vegas, Donnie Tucker, Taswell, Billy G. Taylor, Corydon, Randall Rex Tucker, English and Robert Taylor, Grantsburg; four sisters, Mary Smith, Jeffersonville, Marie England, Marengo, Shirley Laswell, Paoli and Norma Robertson, Marengo; two grandchildren, Cassie Petrocelli and her husband, Mike, Indianapolis and Zach Sipes, New Albany; and two great-grandchildren, Max and Jack Petrocelli.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl U. “Tuck” Weigleb.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Park Christian Church.
