Eva Mae Dixon

90; of Pekin

Funeral services for Eva Mae Dixon, 90, of Pekin, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Pyke-Calloway Funeral Service, New Albany, with burial in Pennsylvania Run Cemetery, Louisville. She died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Maple Manor Christian Home, Sellersburg.

She was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Greensburg, Ky., to Emmett Beams and Rebecca Coleman Crockett Beams. She was a member of Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ and was a retired employee at Census Bureau, Jeffersonville, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Huegenot, Society and the 17th Century Daughters of American Colonist, Daughters of American Revolution, former president of Colonial Dames and a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Delores Brown, of Newport Richie, Fla.; two sons, Gerald Harvey and his wife, Margie Dixon, of Sellersburg and Brent Leslie Dixon, of Pekin; two brothers, Forrest Beams, of Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Charles Beams, of Harrodsburg, Ky.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Edward Harvey Dixon; a son, Leland Allen Dixon; a daughter, Linda R. Bigelow; three brothers, Kenneth, Kermit and Elmer Beams; and a sister, Norma Hibbs.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. will be Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.
