Rep. Baron Hill, D-Ind., introduced a bill that creates a commission on affordable health care. Under the bill, the commission would study potential models for a system to provide health care to Americans.
“I spoke frequently during the last campaign about the need to bring together everyone involved in the health care industry to, once and for all, figure out the best ways to ensure all Americans have access to effective and affordable health care,” Hill said.
“The price of health insurance is often expensive, and with the cost of everything from gas to food continuing to rise, we need to address this issue right now.”
The commission would consist of key members of Congress and representatives from business interests and the White House among others.
It would submit a report on findings, recommendations and legislative proposal.
