Jeffersonville to pick up flood-damaged items

STAFF REPORTS
newsroom@newsandtribune.com

Jeffersonville residents who need to dispose of large items damaged by water during Tuesday’s storms can do so by leaving them at the curb on the same day as their regular trash pickup.

A claw truck will follow garbage trucks’ routes and pick up large items — such as carpeting, furniture and kitchen appliances — on the same day.

Jeffersonville residents also may bring water-damaged items to Dumpsters at the Jeffersonville Streets and Sanitation Department’s yard at 11th Street and Mechanic street.

The 11th Street gate will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for the foreseeable future. Items should be placed inside the Dumpsters and not left on the ground.
