Greater Clark hosting back-to-school event Saturday

It runs from 9 to 11 a.m.; includes prizes

Greater Clark County Schools will be hosting a back-to-school “parent/student education camp” from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at River Valley Middle School’s gymnasium, 2220 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville

Stephen Daeschner, superintendent at Greater Clark, and teachers invite parents and children to join them for a fun-filled and informative morning. Parents can obtain educational tools to empower students for their first day of the 2009-10 school year, a release from Greater Clark says.

Many activities are planned for the family, with focus on children kindergarten through eighth grade. Music will be provided by Choice Entertainment, and students and parents can meet the Jeffersonville Fire Department, see the D.A.R.E. vehicle, Chuck E. from Chuck E Cheese and Drugless Douglas.

Gifts will be distributed throughout the morning in the form of Wal-Mart and Target gift cards and four Chuck E. Cheese tokens for pizza and soft drinks.
