Bethany Burrier made nine kills and five blocks to lead the Borden volleyball team to a Senior Night win over visiting Salem on Monday, 25-20, 25-10, 25-17.
Teammate Andrea Rademacher had nine kills and two service aces, while the Braves’ Crystal Lackey and Erin Mikel each served three aces.
“We attacked pretty well tonight,” Borden head coach D.J. Zipp said. “We limited our errors and hit smart. Our passing had its moments, but overall I am happy with the effort and focus.”
The Braves will travel to Lanesville on Thursday.
• Ramser has 24 assists in Dragons’ win: Sophomore Kristyn Maymon made nine kills and five aces to guide host Silver Creek past Southwestern, 25-15, 25-22, 25-23.
Senior Lindsey Maymon added eight kills. Also for the Dragons (19-11), Danielle Ramser distributed 24 assists, junior Shirley Jones made seven digs, and Mollie Hamilton served three aces.
“We served well. When we passed the ball well, we put some balls down,” Silver Creek head coach Jeff Zimmerman said. “Mollie Hamilton brought us some energy on the floor.”
The Dragons will host Crawford County, their first-round opponent in next week’s Class 3A Salem Sectional, tonight.
