ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

• Cordario Collier (Thomas More football, New Albany graduate, Sr.) — top performance: 13 carries for 117 yards, including a 29-yard touchdown run, and two receptions for 29 yards in the Saints’ 17-7 home victory over Grove City last Saturday; notes: Collier was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. He has helped lead the Saints to a 6-0 record and 4-0 mark in the PAC.



CHARLESTOWN

• Jonathan Akemon (Anderson football, Jr.) — notes: Akemon saw action in the Ravens’ 50-23 road setback last Saturday at Franklin.

• Bowman Thrasher (Franklin football, So.) — notes: Thrasher made one tackle in the Grizzlies’ home victory over Anderson last Saturday.



CHRISTIAN ACADEMY OF INDIANA

• Kayla Koerber (Lindsey Wilson volleyball, So.) — notes: five kills, match-high four blocks (one solo, three assist) and two digs in a 3-0 home victory over St. Catharine on Tuesday.

• Josh Fisher (Franklin football, Jr.) — notes: Fisher played in Franklin’s victory last Saturday at home against Anderson.

• Keshia Johnson-Isgrigg (IU Southeast volleyball, Fr.) — notes: six digs, match-high three aces and two assists in the Grenadiers’ 3-0 victory on Tuesday at Midway.

• Whitney Piatt (Manchester volleyball, So.) — weekly stats: 35 digs, five kills, two assists; top performance: 19 digs in the Spartans’ 3-1 loss versus Asbury last Saturday at the Hanover tri-match.



FLOYD CENTRAL

• Alex Adams (Campbellsville men’s soccer, Jr.) — top performance: one goal and one assist in the Tigers’ 3-2 victory on Tuesday at the University of the Cumberlands; notes: Adams recorded the game-winning assist in the final minute of regulation on Tuesday.

• Joseph Boesing (Southern Indiana men’s tennis, Jr.) — notes: Boesing and doubles partner Diego Gimenez finished sixth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Small College Championships last Thursday and Friday in Mobile, Ala. The tandem recorded a 1-2 record at nationals. They are just the second doubles tandem in USI history to reach the nationals.

• Christine Cleveland (Purdue women’s rowing, So.) — notes: Cleveland helped the Purdue University Crew finish fifth with 466 points in the Head of the Rock meet on Sunday, Oct. 11 in Rockford, Ill.

• Abby Enteman (IU Southeast women’s tennis, Jr.) — weekly stats: 2-0 singles record, 1-0 doubles record; top performance: No. 5 singles win (6-0, 6-0) and No. 2 doubles victory (8-0) with partner Lauren Becher in a 9-0 triumph last Saturday at Berea.

• Ashlie Haworth (Lindsey Wilson volleyball, Fr.) — top performance: match-highs in digs (17), kills (seven) and aces (five) in the Blue Raiders’ 3-0 home victory over St. Catharine on Tuesday.

• April Hill (Asbury women’s swimming, Fr.) — top performance: fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a home triangular meet with Bellarmine and Union last Saturday, 1:14.19; notes: Hill also finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke, 2:45.85.

• Sarah Kline (Lindsey Wilson volleyball, Sr.) — notes: Kline played one set in the Blue Raiders’ 3-0 home victory over St. Catharine on Tuesday.

The Knights recently won the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Mideast Region regular-season championship. They will have the No. 1 seed in the Mideast Region Tournament Oct. 30-31 at KCU.
